Fulla handing a checked statement file across a desk, ready for import

QuickBooks Online

Import bank transactions into QuickBooks Online from PDF statements.

Missing bank feed? Old statements only as PDFs? Convert them, check every transaction against its source page, and upload an OFX or CSV file to the right QuickBooks Online account.

No account needed for your first page. A free workspace adds 5 pages every 24 hours, no card required.

How it works

  1. Convert and check the PDF

Upload the statement, compare the drafted rows with the source page, fix anything the bank printed differently, and approve.

  2. Download OFX

Choose Download OFX on the review page. Use Combined OFX to merge several statements for the same account into one file.

  3. Upload from file in QuickBooks Online

In QuickBooks Online, upload the .ofx file from Bank transactions, choose the matching bank account, then review the transactions before accepting them.

Approve a reviewed bank statement in Fulla Ledger, download one OFX file, see what it contains, then import it into QuickBooks Online through Upload from file or into Xero through Import a Statement. Shown with a fictional sample statement.

A file QuickBooks Online accepts.

QuickBooks Online’s Upload from file accepts .ofx files (as well as .csv, .txt and .qbo), up to 1,000 lines per upload and 350 KB per file. Fulla’s OFX includes the posted date, signed amount, payee, memo, statement period, closing balance and a stable transaction ID for every approved row.

If a statement or a combined batch goes over those limits, download the statements individually and upload them one at a time. A CSV download is available too if you prefer to map columns yourself.

Why check the rows before QuickBooks sees them?

QuickBooks Online can now read some PDF statements itself, and that may be enough for a single clean statement. Fulla suits the harder cases: batches of PDFs, scanned or password-protected statements, and work where you want to see the exact source page behind every row before anything is imported.

You also keep every other destination from the same review: an Excel workbook for your working papers, CSV, JSON or the API. Your statement is deleted 24 hours after the upload starts.

Good to know before you import.

Fulla prepares the file; QuickBooks Online does the import and categorization. There is no direct sync, and Fulla does not create QBO (Web Connect) files or support QuickBooks Desktop imports. Pick the matching bank account when you upload, and compare the imported count with the approved rows.

Try it on your own statement.

Convert one page free with no account, then check every row against its source page before you download.

Files you can inspect

Prepare a test import with inspectable files.

Compare the fictional PDF with its approved OFX and CSV outputs. Check account selection, row count, date range, signs and duplicate handling in your own test account. These downloads have not been independently imported into QuickBooks.
